A Spiritual Imax Experience.

Journey to Mecca is an Imax dramatic and documentary feature filmed in Saudi Arabia and Morocco, which tells the story of the 14th century traveler, and great explorer, Ibn Battuta. The film follows his journey from Tangier, Morocco to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, in 1325.

Journey to Mecca culminates in the most extraordinary and stunning footage ever presented of the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca. This was the first movie ever granted permission to film the annual pilgrimage from within the Grand Mosque and from the air.

Truly spectacular images of the Hajj are presented for the first time on Imax as it was performed in the 14th century and today. It shows how this central pillar of Islamic faith is a celebration of the Prophet Abraham, and is about peace, friendship, and equality.

The film, which promotes the Islamic message of peace, won the most popular film award at the Imax Paris Film Festival. Journey to Mecca is a Cosmic Picture Film produced by Cosmic Picture and SK Films. It is being distributed to Giant Screens worldwide by SK Films in association with National Geographic.
